We will be running a repeat of our NESA ACCREDITED Preparing for the 2024 HSC Chemistry Exam workshop later this term, date TBC very soon

This interactive workshop contains brand new resources for Chemistry teachers, helping them to analyse the 2023 exam and best prepare their students for the 2024 HSC.

In this workshop, teachers will:

  • leverage 2023 RAP Analyses to benefit Chemistry teaching and learning
  • scrutinise the 2023 exam for emerging themes and commonplace mistakes by students
  • perform a variety of Chemistry calculations
  • pilot mark brand new bespoke questions and sample answers
  • unpack and attempt a brand new 7-9 mark question
  • identify strategies for cross-module questions
  • collaboratively develop an exam-style question with marking criteria and exemplar answer

All teachers will walk away with a variety of resources to assist their students in their forthcoming exams. Also, all attendees will receive our bespoke RAP Analysis Spreadsheet upon registration to use for their own exam analysis meetings at school.

NESA Accreditation

Completing Preparing for the HSC Chemistry Exam will contribute 5 hours of NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) Accredited PD in the priority area of Delivery and assessment of NSW Curriculum/Early Years Learning Framework addressing standard descriptors 1.1.2 and 2.1.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.​

Workshop Delivered by Chris Keipert

Chris Keipert is an experienced Chemistry teacher at Coffs Harbour Christian Community School, having taught HSC Chemistry for the past 12 years. He has also taught Chemistry at university, teaching 1st and 2nd-year Chemistry subjects as well as the Chemistry Bridging Course at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS). Chris has been an HSC Marker for the past 8 years in both Senior Marker and Pilot Marker roles.
